Well, we will be actively looking for an agency come October so now we're trying to raise some money to cover initial costs. I am selling my handmade items on etsy & have joined a great group called Hearts4Adoption We have a team on etsy also called Hearts For Adoption We are joining together to support each other along the way and help promote each other's stores so that we can help bring our children home.

Any and all prayers for us during this time would be much appreciated! We have had 2 "placements" fall through so we're praying third times a charm ;)

I didn't post about our second child that didn't happen. On a messageboard I belong to someone e-mailed me about her sister who was 9mths pregnant at the time. We sent her our profile and was fairly certain we were going to be chosen for her daughter, who was do at any time. We were very excited because they were only about 4 hrs away in GA. Well, that all happened on a Sat. By Tues afternoon, she contacted us and told us that she had chosen another family. It really puts doubts into your head about whether we will ever be chosen or is there something wrong with us that would make them not to choose us. It's just a roller coaster.

My "friend" gave Jonah to someone else, over Christmas while I was out of town. I am so hurt & angry right now. I really can't write too much. I didn't know that I could actually hate someone as much as I do her. I'm sorry, I know I don't usually make posts like this, but I just don't know what else to say.

My friend talked w/Jonah's mother the other day & she said that she still wanted him & that she's just going through a hard time right now. So, I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'm still holding out hope that it will happen, but trying not to get too hopeful.

My baby is growing up. At school today, she turned to me & said mom I can walk to my class by myself. Whimper, whimper from me... ok, Jessica I'll stand at the end of the hall & watch you, ok? Ok, mom. Love you, bye. I just wanted to bawl my eyes out. Where did my baby go?

I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, but if anyone still reads this thing, please pray for us. LOL The girl that works with me took in a baby of an inmate back in July. The inmate was pregnant when she went to jail. She didn't want to go through the state courts because she didn't want her baby in foster care. So, the chaplain at the prison found my friend through someone they both knew. My friend went into this just as a "foster" mom. The birth mom has an 8 yr sentence, but her first parole hearing is next May. Well, my friend was taking the baby up to the prison every weekend to stay w/her there so they could bond. Well, the b-mom called my friend the other night & told her she didn't want him coming over the weekends anymore, she can't handle it. So, my friend thinks she might be wanting to give the baby to my friend. Well my friend already has 4 kids, 2 of which are special needs, and doesn't want anymore kids. So, she told me if the baby's mother does this, & gives guardianship to my friend that my friend will sign over guardianship to ME! Now, like I said I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, because his mother could change her mind & my friend's husband wants to keep him even though my friend doesn't. So, there's still all kinds of things that COULD happen. But, please just pray if it's the Lord's will, that we get this baby. I keep him in the mother's day out twice a week & he is such a sweet baby. Anyway, just please pray.

Not really too surprised. I started spotting on Sat & went in for an u/s yesterday. They couldn't find a pregnancy in my uterus, but they said it might just be too early. They did find something in my right tube, but I didn't ovulate from that side so they don't think it's ectopic. I got a beta (hcg) drawn & got the results today. They were only 37 which to me is low. I go in for my second beta tomorrow to see if the numbers are doubling. However, I have passed a couple of clot looking things (TMI I know) so I'm not too optimistic about it all. So, there's my update.

and I'm really going to miss it. I think it's going to be a LONG summer. Jessica isn't going to be doing gymnastics this summer because it gets really crazy at the gym w/all the school age kids there. So, that's really the only consistant thing we had last summer. So, I'm not sure what we'll be doing this summer. Jess is going to start swimming lessons sometime this month. I'm not sure how she'll do though. She's pretty intimidated by water now. She used to not have any problems, but when went in the pool in Branson, she seemed really scared. I don't really have friends that live close to me, now that we've moved. So, I'm just going to have to figure something out. Any thoughts?!?

We had a great weekend

We went to Branson over the weekend & had a blast. We went for Jessica's b-day because she kept saying she wanted to ride a roller coaster. Well, she got to. On Fri we went to the Titanic Museum. It was a lot of fun, but definitely overpriced. Just about everything was overpriced, but I guess you have to expect that. After that, we went to The Track Dh & Jess rode go carts & bumper boats w/my nephews & sister-in-law. They had so much fun. Sat we did a little shopping & then went to Celebration City We saw a Veggie Tales show & Jess road the rides. We went on a log ride that Jess absolutely loved. Sun we went to the Butterfly Palace. It was so neat. At the beginning there was a 3-D movie that watched to see how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Well, when the butteflies emerged, it looked like they were flying right at us & Jessica was trying to grab them lol It was the cutest thing. Then we went into the buttefly garden. It was so cool. Jess had a butterfly land right on her. Then we went to Silver Dollar City We went on a water ride & Jess got a face full of water, which she didn't like, but then when the ride was over she said let's go again. She also got to ride her first roller coaster which she absolutely loved! LOL She is so not afraid of rides which is great! We left Branson on Mon & went back to my parent's house & came home yesterday. I have tons of pics & I'll post them when I get them uploaded.

Well, Jess had her 4 yr check up today....where did 4 yrs go?!? She's doing great. Her eye site is 20/30, she's in the 30th % (39 inches) for height & 50th% (36 lbs) for weight. Poor kid is going to be short, I'm afraid. LOL The dr said she's ahead in just about everything & that she looked great. So, I was pleased.

Well, I wanted to do some planting today & needed some planters. So, my wonderful hubby made me some planters. I had seen them on ebay selling for 25.00. I knew he could make them & so I asked him to make me some. He did a great job & I got to plant my petunias & miniature roses. I am so thrilled. Here are some pictures of his handy work.

Well, there are only 12 days left of work for me & school for Jess. I think she's going to be doing ballet this summer. She's pretty excited about that. I think I have decided not to homeschool. So, now I'm trying to research different schools in the area. I can't believe she's going to be started kingergarten in the fall of 2008. It just doesn't seem possible. Her 4th birthday is next mth. My baby is growing so fast.

I got my miniature roses in the mail the other day. I can't wait to plant them. It's been so hot here though. You'd think it was June or July. Hopefully it will cool down a little bit before summer actually starts.

Jessica LOVES soccer. Her first game is April 7. It is so funny to watch them practice. She has such patient coaches & I am so thankful for them. We should be getting her uniform next Tues & I'll take a pic of her in it.

Since I last posted. I'm going to have to get better at this! Well, I joined First Place (a biblically based weight loss program) through our church. Tonight is our second meeting, but first "official" meeting. I'm really hoping this will be the one for me. There's really nothing new going on here. Jessica is starting soccer. Her first practice in March 5. She's really excited about it. I am too. Can't wait to see her playing! LOL We're still trying to have a baby/adopt a baby. Whichever God blesses us with. I'm ready to start planting. I love winter, but I got plants in the mail the other day & I am pumped to go out & garden!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, we certainly did! We had a birthday party for Jesus on Christmas day after we opened ALL the presents. Jess of course was thrilled w/all of her presents. Although last year was her first year to open & presents & things on her own, this year was her first year realizing there were more presents so of course she kept saying "next". LOL How do you teach them the real meaning of Christmas with so many presents?!? We had Christmas at our house on the 21st. She only gets 3 presents from us, like Jesus got from the 3 wisemen. So, she did get exposed to the real meaning at our house. LOL Well, it's a new year & it's time for new Year's resolutions. So, here are mine:

1. Lose weight
2. Learn to knit
3. Get my house somewhat organized!

I think I will keep a "journal" here for my weight loss so people can keep me accountable! LOL

Adoption

Well, we are thinking about adopting. We are probably going to go through Guatemala because you can get much younger infants from them & the time is much shorter. I'm cautiously excited. LOL It costs quite a bit to adopt so that's going to be a major factor. But, please be praying for us during this exciting time!

Sad day for America

I know not everyone that reads this blog agrees w/my political view point, but it's my blog so I can post as I choose, right?!? LOL I am so saddened by the elections. The only ray of sunshine that I see is that it's going to help the Republicans in the Presidential race because it will bring out the true Democrats. I just don't undertand how people can vote for a party that will increase our taxes, increase gov't involvement in our personal lives, kill unborn children in the name of research. It just doesn't make sense to me. I did my part & my state pulled through for the Republicans & for the sanctity of marriage, but sadly we'll have to go through some labor pains before it gets better.

I know I wrote this already, but for some reason it didn't post. I got hired at Jessica's preschool for Tues in the infant room. This past Tues was my first day & it actually wasn't too bad. The great part about it is that her tuition is now half price...woohoo!!! I can still sub on Thurs if I want to or not. So, I still have some flexibility.

It seems to take someone asking me to update to make me update! LOL I have been crazy busy w/MOPS. I had to do the directory, which took forever. I have to make a newsletter for every meeting. Then I was busy getting stuff on ebay (which I'm still not done with). Why did I think I'd have more time being a SAHM?

Oh yes, and we're back on the trying to conceive bandwagon. This our first month of actually trying for another baby. Jessica has been asking about a baby brother for about 2 mths now. I've been wanting another for a while, but Russ finally came around. Jessica's pre-school teacher is pregnant & now Jessica walks around saying she has a baby in her tummy. What a cutie pie!! Anyway, hopefully I can update more now that the directory is done.

Kentucky Down Under

Russ decided that he wanted to have a day out w/the family. Needless to say, I was thrilled! LOL So, we decided to go to Kentucky Down Under. It's a "zoo" in Kentucky that is geared toward Australia. There are kangaroos, different birds including the laughing Kookaburra, they have a demonstration on how to play the didgeridoo, & a reptiles station. You can also go through the cave & there's a wool shed where you can feed the sheep & cows (we didn't have time to do this). Anyway, we had a great time! Here are some pictures from our adventure

Well, Jess starts pre-school in 2 wks & I'm very torn about it. LOL How could it be that she is old enough for pre-school?!? Anyway, the place I'm taking her said they have some openings for teachers/assistants & I think I'm going to try to get one. It's only going to be 10hr/wk but hey, it's something right? It might actually pay for the tuition & gas to get us there which would be great! So, I'm hoping they'll call me back today about it. I have taken some pictures, but Russ doesn't have his computer set up to upload pictures right now & for some unknow reason, my computer freaks out when I have more than one usb port in use. So, you'll have to wait just a little while longer. LOL

Finally "settled" in

Well, we moved into our new house on July 24. The only help we had were my parents that drove in from Arkansas. However, the day they got in, my mother had a kidney stone attack. So, needless to say she had to go to the ER that night & was on the couch the rest of the time they were here. Russ decided to go ahead & hire some people to move the heavy stuff, so that was done on Mon. We also moved some of the boxes on Mon as well. It took us about 4 days to get EVERYTHING moved. My poor dad was such a help. Because we moved during the week, we just didn't have any other help. Well, when we moved in, we already knew that the left side of the kitchen sink leaked & there were various other things that needed to be fixed. However, we didn't know that our hot/cold water upstairs were switched. Needless to say, Russ had a cold shower our first night here because he didn't realize they were switched & thought something was wrong w/the hot water heater LOL We have really nice neighbors...finally! They invited us over for dinner our second night here which was really nice. Jessica is doing great. She's always saying that she loves her new house. We still have to drive by our old house to get to certain places in town & she's always saying...No, I don't want to go back to the house. She thinks we're going back to the old house. LOL So, to say she hasn't had any problem transitioning would be an understatement. She has a MUCH bigger room, so thankfully most of her toys fit in there. I've got all the "important" boxes unpacked, but just going slow on the other ones. It still doesn't really feel like "home", but it's growing on me. ;) I don't have any pictures yet, but will post as soon as I do.

Well, we closed on our house yesterday. It's kind of bittersweet, but I know it will be better at our new house. We close on our new house next Thurs but we're going to start moving in on Mon. None of the houses I've shown have worked out so it's a completely different house. LOL. It's 3098 sq ft on 1.3 acres. It's got 2 master bedrooms (one upstairs & one downstairs). It's 4 bedrooms & has a bonus room upstairs as well. I'll post pics after we've moved in. I'm completely stressed out from packing. My parents are coming in on Sun to help us move. So, pray for us!

Ok, I've been reprimanded for not updating about the house. We now have 2 contracts on the house. The second contract is forcing the first contract to close w/in 30 days or lose the house. The first contract has until tomorrow evening to show financial proof that they can buy the house (which we think they're going to do). We really want the first contract to go through because we really like these people & their offer was $2000 more than the second offer. We accepted the second offer because there were no contingencies, like having another house to sell. However, we don't like them very much. lol So, now we're looking for backup houses. If the first contract goes through, we think they'll let us rent our house from them until our other house is completed. But, if the second contract goes through we have to be out by the 27th of July. Either way, we're closing w/in 30 days. Do you think I need to start packing?!? LOL We have found another house though, that I LOVE!!! We're going to try & get in to see it tomorrow. So, we'll see how it goes.

Who knows anymore. Russ said he's not going to relax until closing. Anyway, we had 3 showings Fri evening & got an offer Sat. It was for $900 under asking which we thought was good. We told them about the flood plain & everything while they were here & what do they do?!? They send a contract through saying it's dependent on the flood plain. WTH! Why would you send a contract through saying that when you already KNOW it's in the flood plain. Good grief, are people really this ignorant? ANYWAY, our realtor just put in the contract that the buyers will have to satisfy that on their own. In other words get a survey or whatever needs to be done to satisfy themselves about the flood plain since we had all talked about it already. While I was on the phone w/our realtor she also said another offer was going to be coming through so we'll see what that one says. We're just hoping to close soon so that we can choose the things that are going to be in our new house.

The people backed out at the last minute because of the flood plain. Isn't that the way it always goes. We're hoping that they'll still be interested if we can get out of the flood plain. Our realtor wasn't real positive either. She said "I'd be suprised if anyone would buy in the flood plain". WTH! A lot of really nice houses around here are in the flood plain & haven't had any problem selling. Anyway, the realtor said she believes she can get us out of the flood plain. So, I'm pretty disapointed, but I've just got to keep trusting that God will provide.

Guys, this is such a God thing! We put our house on the market two days ago & had a contract on it last night. We have been worrying all day though because one of the clauses in the contract was that it couldn't be in a flood plain. Well, we are. But, after many stressful, worrisome hours today, our realtor called and said it's not an issue with them & we're going in tonight to sign the contracts!!!! I KNOW it was a God thing because I don't believe it would have happened this quickly if it wasn't. Thank you all so much for all the prayers, we have certainly felt them!!!

We found a house!!

Well, we went to look at a house today. It is new construction & I really want a brand new house so I got Russ to go out & look at it. It's a nice house, but we REALLY liked the house next to it. LOL This one is still under construction (should be done in 3 mths). It's between 2700 & 3000 sq ft (the realtor wasn't sure). It's on 1 acre & also has a basement. We are so excited!! I think we're going to put a contract on it Mon. It's so much bigger than our house now. There's only going to be about 10 houses in the whole neighborhood which will really be nice. We were really wanting to get off of our busy street & this street is a dead end so it shouldn't get too much traffic. Please pray that everything works out for us to get this house. Moving!!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Well, we have decided to sell our house. We had a realtor come out on Thurs night & now we've just got to sign the papers. We're really hoping we can find a house in the same area, but it's getting so expensive to find a house in this area that we're not sure we can. Jess is already enrolled in pre-school & I've committed to being the Publicity Leader in MOPS so I really don't want to move too far away. Russ is looking further south but that might be too far for me. LOL Please keep us in your prayers during this stressful time!

My inconsiderate neighbors

Why can't people just be considerate of others? Our neighbors are freaks, yep, freaks. The man that owns the home is in his late 40's early 50's & hangs out w/people half his age. So needless to say they like to party at his house. Well, Fri night they decided to have band practice at MIDNIGHT!! This isn't the first time. They usually go until 2 or 3 in the morning. They do it all the time & finally told Russ that I was tired of it & asked him to call the cops. Well, they were less than happy, but I just can't deal w/it anymore! Russ overheard them saying "I'm going to teach him a lesson". GREAT! The thing about it is, it's not like we live in a trashy part of town or anything, we just have crappy neighbors! I would love to move, but Russ just doesn't think we can financially do it right now. I don't know, I'm just at my wits end.

I married my best friend in the world. I can't believe it's already been 9 yrs. Just doesn't seem possible. It seems like just yesterday we were exchanging vows & now we have a 3 yr old & have been married for 9 yrs. Crazy how fast time flies.

Gymnastics Drama

Well, Jess busted her lip open at gymnastics today. They had a ladder type thing propped up against a mat (one that is tall, not flat). Well Jess was climbing up & missed one of the rungs & fell & hit her mouth on the next rung. She comes running over crying. I didn't think it had done anything, but when I moved her lip, sure enough she had split her lip open & skinned her gum. I didn't know you could skin your gum, but it peeled the skin back & now it's purple. So, I'm cradling Jessica & some saliva mixed w/blood comes out of her mouth & of course I can't get a paper towel. The teacher was already running around looking for ice or something to put on it. Thankfully another mother that I'm friends w/was there & she got me paper towels & a cold paper towel to cool Jess off. NONE of the other mothers moved. I couldn't believe it. They were all like oh poor thing...YADA, YADA. Jess was fine though & got a popsicle out of it! LOL Just another crazy day in my life! :D

Can you guess what I'm going to write?!? So, I was in bed this morning & Jess was in there w/me. Well, all of a sudden I smell...FINGERNAIL POLISH! I jumped out of bed (literally) & looked down to see Jessica painting her legs, arms, hands & occassionaly fingernail w/my polish!! Of course I don't have any remover so had to go to the store to get some. Oh the joys of having a toddler! LOL
